Quality is job one
Over on Pink Slip, my main blog, I clicked through on a recent comment to the URL. I did so out of curiosity,even though I knew that the comment was not genuine, but was just there for the possibility of stirring up some business. (Spam-mish, but not quite spam.)
Anyway, when I got to the website, I was really taken aback.
Most of the main content areas on the home page were “lorem ipsum”.
Here’s what was on the about page:
Company Name
Company Slogan
History of company, mission statement, etc.
Some of the links led to the home page of the shopping cart software provider; others led to Google. (Huh?)
It was a total and utter mess.
Leading me to believe that the person leaving the comment on my blog was hoping that it would stay there, and that - over time - the completed web site would be what’s linked.
That or there’s some sort of web designer or hosting problem.
In the meantime, even if I did want to buy something from them (in this case, an e-cigarette), the web site at present is way too broken and incoherent.
Using social media to get your message out is fine. And I’m not totally adverse to someone who’s being a bit spammish, but is not fully spamming.
Still, I can’t imaging whose interest is served by having a

Most likely they want you to click on the Google links, which generates income for them…
